We work collaboratively with our kin and allies to advance the rights of Indigenous workers and peoples, within workplaces, UFCW 1518, in policy at all levels of government, and in the communities we live in, with an open hand and an open heart to all.

Christine Holowka, a dedicated 35-year member of UFCW 1518, joined the UFCW 1518 Executive Board in 2012.
She is a passionate advocate for education and awareness on indigenous issues, having served on the Provincial Indigenous Committee, National Indigenous Sub-Committee, and Human Rights Equity and Diversity National Committee.
Christine is committed to engaging with members and empowering them to use their voices to champion workers’ and human rights.
Eddie Goodwater joined UFCW 1518 in 2020 and has been a union activist supporting a number of causes, most recently being elected co-chair of the Indigenous Workers’ Committee at the end of 2024.
Eddie also worked as an Organizer-in-Training from 2023-24, helping the Organizing team to build worker power in the industrial food sector.
